OUR PROGRAMS

OUR PROGRAMS
What does it take to meet the needs of over 1,000 individuals with developmental disabilities to participate in their communities and lead fulfilling lives? It takes all of us working together. An investment in Contra Costa ARC is an investment in your community.

CHILDREN'S SERVICES
BRIGHT BEGINNINGS
Bright Beginnings is designed for children from birth to age three (up to age 6 at Lynn Center in Brentwood, when referred by a school district, after the child turns 3) with significant communication and social delays and for those who may have a diagnosis of Regulatory Disorder or Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
GREAT BEGINNINGS
Great Beginnings is an early intervention program for children from birth to three years old (up to age 6 at Lynn Center in Brentwood, when referred by a school district, after the child turns 3) who demonstrate developmental delays or who are at risk for such delays. Children may participate at one of our three preschool settings, or may receive individualized services at home or in the community.
NEW BEGINNINGS
New Beginnings is an intensive early intervention program for children with significant social-emotional or behavioral problems. Children may receive services at our preschool, or may receive individual services at home, in the community, or in a clinical setting. The program is designed for children from birth to six years of age who meet the eligibility criteria and need a structured program with close staff supervision.
WRAPAROUND SERVICES
Wraparound services provide intensive support for families of young children with complex needs such as developmental delays, severe behavioral and/or emotional difficulties, and mental health needs. Our services are available at no cost for children who have Medi-Cal insurance or who qualify for First 5 funding.
NEXT STEPS PROGRAM
Next Steps was created to help parents in recovery improve relationships with their children. We provide training and support for you and your child(ren) while you are in a residential, outpatient, or other substance abuse recovery program. Next Steps helps parents to improve their parenting skills and create a more stable and balanced family life.
CHILDCARE SOLUTIONS
We provide a wide range of opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our array of early intervention services includes a unique and highly respected program for children on the autism spectrum. We support hundreds of individuals to access their communities every day. We are the largest employer of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the East Bay.
WE ARE FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE
We stretch our budget as far as it can be stretched. We don’t cut corners on the quality of our services, but we cut back expenses wherever they can be cut, and we make every dollar of every contribution count. We work hard to be as self-sufficient as possible—we operate our own assembly, packaging, and direct mail business through our Commercial Support Services program, and we generate substantial support from our Good Stuff Thrift Shop in El Cerrito. Every dollar of revenue directly supports our programs.
WE ARE A PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS
Contra Costa ARC is a partnership between the public and private sectors—much of our funding comes from government sources, but a significant part is self-generated or comes from our friends in the community. In fact, we depend upon support from the community to continue operating. We invite you to become a part of that support.
